       The power battery is the core of the new energy battery, and the function of the battery diaphragm is also very important. It is mainly to separate the positive and negative plates of the battery in a narrow space to prevent the short circuit caused by the contact between the two poles, but it can ensure the free passage of ions in the electrolyte between the positive and negative poles. Therefore, the separator becomes the core material to ensure the safety and stability of lithium-ion batteries.


      The electrolyte is to isolate the source of combustion, the diaphragm is to improve the heat-resistant temperature, and the sufficient heat dissipation is to reduce the temperature of the battery, so as to avoid excessive heat accumulation leading to out of control of the battery. If the temperature of the battery rises to 300 ℃, even if the diaphragm does not melt and contract, the electrolyte itself, the electrolyte and the positive and negative electrodes will have strong chemical reaction, release gas, form internal high pressure and explode, so it is very important to adopt suitable heat dissipation mode.


There are two main ways to cool the power battery of new energy vehicles:

1.Cooling mode of liquid cooling structure of power battery pack

      (1) The heat of the electric core is transmitted to the liquid cooling pipe through the heat-conducting silicon film. The heat is taken away by the free circulation of the expansion and contraction of the coolant, so that the temperature of the whole battery pack is unified. The strong specific heat capacity of the coolant absorbs the heat generated when the electric core is working, so that the whole battery pack operates within the safe temperature.

       (2) The conductive silica gel sheet has good insulation performance and high resilience, which can effectively avoid the vibration, friction and damage between the cores, and the hidden danger of short circuit between the cores. It is the best auxiliary material for water-cooling scheme.


2. Air cooling and heat dissipation mode of power battery pack

By adding cooling fans and ventilation holes inside the battery pack, the air mobility inside the battery is increased, and the heat emitted in the air is taken away; while the positive and negative electrodes with large heat generation are made of heat-conducting silica gel sheet, which is used to conduct the heat to the metal shell with heat dissipation effect of the base plate.


3. Natural convection cooling mode of power battery pack

      (1) This kind of battery pack has large space and good contact with air. The exposed part can exchange heat naturally through air. The part at the bottom that can't exchange heat naturally can dissipate heat through radiator. The conductive silicon film fills the space between the radiator and the battery pack, conducting heat, damping and insulating.

      (2) The heating plate scheme is mostly used in the application market of new energy vehicles. The heat of the preheating heating plate of the battery before the start-up is transferred to the battery pack through the heat-conducting silica gel sheet. The preheating battery and the heat-conducting silica film have good heat-conducting performance, insulation performance and wear-resisting performance, which can effectively heat transfer and protect the wear and short circuit caused by the friction between the battery pack and the heating plate.
